Cranmer's Book of Homilies, 1547 The Second Tome of Homilies replaced Cranmer's twelve sermons, which emphasized the theology of the reformed Protestant church, with twenty-one sermons largely written by Elizabeth's Bishop John Jewell. The last to be added was the "Homily against disobedience and wilful rebellion."
